Psychedelic Goats and Other Horned Creatures
The series ‘Psychedelic Goats and Other Horned Creatures’ comes from a place of play and solace. As the series developed I was completing several pieces that address some pretty heavy material: the Syrian refugee crisis, the rise of hateful rhetoric in the U.S., and feelings of individual isolation (not necessarily my own) and how much of it is self-imposed. In these very confusing, maddening times, I needed to make images that were weird and trippy, and allow me to get a visceral response to them. The goats themselves are the connection to the viewer: who doesn’t love goats?
